I started this portrait with graphite powder.The pencil work adds layers and burnishes at the same time.
-As long as the work is gentle, I could complement the layers With blenders of varying qualities.The white fur was started with pale graphite powder to start, and then erased in stripes.

I start With the detail areas, in this case the eyes.
I use the 4H mostly as a cross blender and/or burnisher.
I also tested the 2 mm mech pencils from Stageet, but that was not the way to go, since the lead (graphite) is not ground evenly enough for this kind of use. (Nice mechanics though!)

I started this portrait with graphite powder, but avoiding the burnish effect by being gentle.
The pencil work adds layers and burnishes at the same time.
Obviously, 2H is relatively hard, hence pale effect that takes time to build in place.
Added regular HB in select areas of the shirt.
The white hair was started with pale graphite powder to start, and then erased in stripes.
